Seasonal Support Programs
 Fighting Childhood Hunger Year-Round

I

Beyond our education and wellness initiatives, we provide essential seasonal support programs to ensure that low-income children in our community have access to nutritious food and critical resources throughout the year.

These targeted programs help combat childhood food insecurity, especially during school breaks and high-need seasons, when access to meals is limited.

SUMMER FOOD SUPPORT

In the spring semester, school counselors identify students who can benefit from supplemental food over the summer months and encourage parents to register. The Summer Food Box program provides these families with a box of kid-friendly supplemental food in June, July and August.

The Community Storehouse also provides a meal for every child attending our summer programs, including Camp Make S'mores.

HUNGER DOESN'T TAKE A BREAK

For many of low-income children, free school breakfasts and lunches are the primary source of nutrition. During school breaks, these children are at risk of going hungry.

Through the Supplemental Feeding Program, the Community Storehouse is able to help feed children that know all too well that hunger doesn’t take a break.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DISTRIBUTION

This yearly program relies on volunteers, food donations, and monetary donations to make the event successful.

On the day of the event, families receive food for the Thanksgiving Holiday and extra food for the time the children are out of school. You can help by making a donation or providing food off our wish list.

CHRISTMAS HOUSE PROGRAM

Christmas House is a cherished annual event hosted by Community Storehouse, dedicated to providing holiday gifts to low-income families and ensuring that every child experiences the joy of the season.

This program serves families within our community, offering them the opportunity to receive new, age-appropriate toys for their children during the holidays.

*In 2024 We served 951 Children and distributed 5,283 toys.*

We rely on the generosity of local businesses, community groups, and individual donors to make this event possible. Through toy donations, financial contributions, and volunteer support, we can brighten the holidays for families facing financial hardship.

We collect donations for our Christmas Program from October 1st - December 9th.
